Who am I?

Hello. My name is Charlotte and I am a grade 10 student. At my school, we are currently doing our personal projects which is a project where we find something that we are passionate about, and use that to create a goal and project that we will finish by the end of the year.
Last year, when Covid first started I found a new interest in running and began to do it quite often. However as school started again and the summer heat came, I stopped, and haven't run as frequently as I have before. Having said this, when it was time to come up with a personal project, I thought that doing something related to running would be the perfect opportunity to go back into it.
This challenge is pushing me a little out of my comfort zone as I do not typically run long distances such as 12km. Having said this, I also have not run regularly in quite some time, therefore my endurance may not be high enough, making this preparation for 12km and the run itself, harder. Nevertheless, I am excited for this new challenge I can work towards and complete!
What is this and why am I doing this?
For my personal project at school, I have chosen to run a set distance of 12km. However, in order for me to achieve this distance, I need to work up to it. Therefore, I have decided to create an 6 week plan that will allow me to run 12km by the end of it. I will be giving a small description of what I do each day on this blog!
Throughout my journey, I will also experiment with different aspects that may impact my running such as nutrition, sleep, psychology etc.
The purpose of this blog is to inform and give insight to beginner runners who would like to run a long-distance over a period of time, as well as some things to do and not to do - and overall, my experience with this project.
